And it’s falling down. A small democratic country residing within the world’s largest
democracy is falling down. In a shocking turn of events, the Sheikh of Bangladesh shakes
the entire world.
“Whatever was going on in the name of democracy in Bangladesh, under the guise of
pseudo-democracy, has also ended. So, what now?”
So what will happen now? Do you think the same thing that happened in Afghanistan will
happen there? Will the situation in Pakistan repeat itself, or will something new happen?
So let us understand what will happen now. The most important point is that Bangladesh is
an Islamic republic. So you must understand its implications and what we will discuss.
Let’s talk about some important topics :
- As we know, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan are all Islamic countries. The
condition of minorities in these places has been dire under previous governments, with daily torture and persecution widely observed. Now that the government has changed, the future for these minority communities is uncertain and could worsen significantly. It appears that only the minority departments may remain, but they might have to import minorities from other countries to sustain themselves. Given the history of violence against minorities, it
seems a dangerous and troubling era could be ahead for these communities. - Economy: During Sheikh Hasina’s rule, Bangladesh’s economy was better than
Pakistan’s, but now its condition is expected to worsen, potentially falling behind Pakistan. In this difficult situation, ordinary Bangladeshis like you and me will also be affected. - Internal security: This will be an important matter. For those who claim to be secular,
maintaining security might not seem like a significant challenge, but what is needed is a
strong leader who can provide comprehensive facilities, including security. - External affairs: Relations with India were good during the rule of Sheikh Hasina, now
after her exit from power, the question arises whether the relations with India will remain as good or not. As we know that China wants to increase its influence in neighboring countries, so now after this incident it can be seen that the relations between China and Bangladesh can be good and bad with India.
In India, the Border Security Force is on high alert. India shares a 4,096 km border with
Bangladesh, across which travel has been stopped; the Railways and Air India have
cancelled trains and flights. The airline operates two flights daily from Delhi to Dhaka.
Meghalaya. which has a 443-km border with Bangladesh, has ordered a 12-hour night-time curfew from 6 pm within 200 metres inside Indian territory. Meanwhile, the ruling BJP’s ally in Tripura, the Tipra Motha – which has a 856-km border – has been assured by Union Home Minister Amit Shah that no infiltration will be allowed.
Conclusion, Seeing the conditions in Afghanistan, Ukraine-Russia, and the state of the
world, along with the current situation in Bangladesh, it seems that we are approaching a
dire crisis that neither you nor I can fully imagine.
